Activity 3: The WWF: World Wildlife Fund [10 points]


In 1961, a number of people came together to start an organisation called the
World Wildlife Fund (WWF). The main goal of this organisation was/is to protect life on earth.
Hundreds of WWF staff work in countries all over the world trying to protect our planet and the
animals who live here. To learn more about their amazing work, click on one of the two video
links below.

Clip #2: Tigers

Once you have watched the video, go to your blog and, using full sentences, tell us:
1) The name of the animal the WWF is working to save.
WWF are trying to save the fresh water seals.
2) What the WWF is doing to help the animal.
They are helping them by building a snowbank to have their pups there.
3) What, if any, success they have had protecting the animal
They are making sore that they don’t go extinct because of climate change.

    Yes, you're absolutely correct! The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is working to save freshwater seals but do you know what type of freshwater seal? Here's a clue, their name begins with "S". You have shown good understanding about what the WWF are doing to save these freshwater seals. Why is important that they are making these snow banks for the seals and what happens if there are no snow banks for them? It's amazing what people can achieve when we come together and offer a helping hand, don't you think? There is still plenty of work to be done to ensure that we are able to protect these animals but any efforts made will always be helpful to their well-being.
