  1. Slip on your shirt if you are going swimming instead of wearing Just Swimming togs put maybe
  2. a rash top or just a shirt.
  3. Slip stay in the shade it can stop you from getting sunburnt
  4. Slop on sunscreen it will protect you from getting sunburnt as well
  5. Slap on a sun hat that will protect your face
  6. Wrap on sunglasses they can protect your eyes from getting burnt

The  five things you need are:
  • Top/ rash top
  • Shade
  • Sunscreen
  • Sunhat
  • Sunglasses

I screenshotted this off the learn how to be sunsmart website.

  1. Kia ora Jess,

Fantastic work for including and telling us five things that we should also bring with us when we know we will be out in the sun. It's really important that we make sure we protect ourselves daily, especially from the harsh sun that shines over New Zealand. I love the saying, "slip, slop, slap and wrap", it's so catchy and VERY helpful to remember, don't you think?

Does your school have a uniform and does it require you to wear a hat? I had to wear a hat all throughout primary and intermediate school but my high school didn't require students to wear hats. I think it's really important that we keep sun smart our whole lives, you wouldn't want to get a nasty burn every time you wanted to play out in the sun, that would be no fun!

    Keep up the wonderful work,
    Evelyn :)
