Baking brownies

Today we baked a chocolate brownie with group 2. Part of the reason that we
baked brownies today was because next month Kumara School is having a table
for the Kumara Gala Day. This will be representing some of the things that we
have baked. The first brownie turned out to be a bit like a cake but everyone still
liked it. We learnt that we needed to follow all the instructions even if they didn't
seem right and make sure that we don't put too much mixture in the tray. To
complete the look of the brownie we sprinkled some icing sugar on top.  I really
enjoyed the brownies and so did everyone else.

Baking French toast

Last week Priya and I baked french toast with group 1. This was
a huge success and was very tasty. Unfortunately we set the
fire alarm off 3 times because there was so much smoke from
the pan. It was quite funny when this happened but we learnt to
make sure that the windows are open before we start so there
is lots of air moving around. Another thing that we learnt was
that when we soaked the bread in the egg milk and other
ingredients not to leave it in for long because the bread
becomes very soggy and was hard to pick up. I think that they
didn't look as good as they could have been but they tasted
yum. Everyone liked them.
Lotte thought they were delicious and yummy.

Johanna thought they were soggy but really good.
