Day 5: Maintaining the Status Quo (The 1990’s)

Day 5: Maintaining the Status Quo (The 1990’s)

Activity 1: Hiking Tongariro

This one I have to list 5 items that I would tack for a hike over the Tongariro crossing and how to stay safe while you’re hiking.

  • Food
  • water
  • hat sunsrean
  • fist aid kit
  • warm clothes

1. Plan your trip

You should always plan your trip and estimate when you will get back.

2. Tell someone

you should tell some one before you go so if you get hurt and you are not back then they will know.

3. Be aware of the weather

The weather can change so always check the weather forecast.

4. Know your limits

If you are not fit enough then do not go on the tramp.

5. Take sufficient supplies

Make sure you have enough food, clothing, equipment and emergency rations for the worst-case scenario. So if something bad happened you would have all the stuff.

  1. Hi Jess

This is excellent work on this activity. These would have to be the best answers that I have read over the summer.
Have you been hiking or tramping before?
You have really covered all the things well that you need to for a tramping trip.
Planning your trip is a really important part of the tramping, to make sure that you know exactly where you are going and how long you are going for. Telling someone your plans is a must for your trip too.
The weather is such an important part of the trip because the weather can change so quickly.
And then having enough food, water and supplies for the trip will make sure that you are very well prepared.

I am wondering if you have been tramping before as you really did know a lot about it.
Great work Jess, I am impressed.

    Until next time

    Allie :)
