Budgie Report !9.3.19

Budgies Report
19.3.19
Jess

This report is about Budgies. Budgies are a bird but they are not just any old bird,
they are a parakeet which is a small parrot that has long tail feathers. Budgies
live for 5 to 10 years and they can grow up to 18 cm long, from tail to beak.
They are approximately 10 cm tall when they are an adult. This report covers:
 their diet, behaviour and appearance.

Diet. Budgies eat seeds, fruit and vegetable. About 10 to 20 percent of their
diet is vegetables and 5 percent is fruit. They also eat crackers.

Behaviour. Because budgies are a bird they can fly. Believe it or not humans are
not the only things that can talk! Budgies can talk. Usually the male budgies are
more likely to talk but the female ones can as well. It takes lots more training to
get  budgies to talk and it is even harder to get female budgies to talk. If people
have one as a pet they can make it friendly so they can come and land on you
and fly around you.

Appearance. Budgies can be any colour usually green, yellow, white or blue. It is
not well known that people will only find yellow and green ones in the bush
because the white and blue one are cross breeds and the yellow and green ones
are natural colours.

If you want to know if your budgie is a male or a female you look at its cere which
is just above its beak and you see what colour it is.  If it is coloured blue, its a
male. Females’ cere are brown.

I have 2 budgies at my house here is a photo of them.
