Week 3
Day 3
Activity 2: Printing Prosthetics [4 points]

For this activity, we would like you to learn more about 3D printed prosthetics
(artificial body parts, like hands or arms). Please watch this video about 3D
printed prosthetics (artificial body parts, like hands or arms).
On your blog, tell your readers:
  1. One thing that you learned from watching this video
  2. One thing that surprised you when watching this video

The video didn't work for me because Youtube is blocked from our school so I
searched up 3D printed prosthetics and I found out that:
a 3D printed prosthesis could be made for as little as $50. And the thing that took
me by surprise is that: a 3D printer can make prosthesis hands, arms, feet, and
legs. I think that a 3D printer can also make a house!

  1. Hi Jess

It really is quite amazing just what a 3D printer can do. I have seen some of the things that kids bring back to school that they have printed at the high school at technology and that is amazing, so imagine something like a hand or foot. How amazing to think that technology has come that far.
I wonder just what they will be able to do in the future?
The things that I have seen that they have printed look very real, you wouldn't know it has just been created on a printer!

You will hopefully be able to learn so much more about this in years to come while you are at high school. It will be interesting to see just how far this can go.

Even though you couldn't watch the you tube clip, well done for problem solving and finding another way around it.

    Until next time

    Allie :)
