Activity 2: Offering a Helping Hand

Activity 2: Offering a Helping Hand

In this activity, I need to think up three ways to raise help for families who were struggling.

At school we have mufti days and raffles and things to raise money, but this would not work back then because they probably don't wear uniforms anyway or have places to sit for raffles and people wouldn't have money to give away.
Instead of raising money they could keep people like the elderly company and maybe help them if they need it.
Healthy people could help unhealthy people.
People who aren't working could help make something to collect water, like a well.
A group of people could grow vegetables or fruit for people to eat, like a community garden. They could somehow bring in people from overseas with things to help them like medicine or water or food.

  1. Hi Jessica

I really like the idea of a community garden. This would mean not only being able to feed people but it would provide work for people to attend the garden and help the plants to grow.
Then handed out to the community to share. This would work really well back then just like to does now.
I also like the idea of helping the elderly but keeping them company and doing chores for them so they don't have to worry, or they might not be able to do the chores.
You are right about the uniforms, I don't think they would have worn uniforms. It is a really good way to raise money in a school now though!
Do you have mufti days at Kumara to raise money for things or people?

Great ideas Jessica you are a really kind person thinking of others.

    Keep up the great work.

    Until next time

    Allie :)
