SLJ W3 D2 A3

Week 3
Day 2
Activity 3: Flying Fungi [10 points]

Today I have to work out this problem.

Let’s imagine that we tested the air in my classroom
and found 7 different kinds of mould. Eek! The cleaner
says that it takes 5 days for each mould to be
eradicated (removed). If the school had to remove
each mould one at a time, how long would it take to
remove all the mould from the classroom?

It would take 35 days because it takes 5 days for each different mould and there is 7 so you times them.which equals 35 that is how you solve it.  It is written out like
5 x 7 = 35.

  1. Hi Jess,

It's wonderful to see that you have understood this problem and have been able to solve it brilliantly. I like that you have written out your answer in full sentences. That way, people can read your post and know exactly what you are writing about, well done Jess. That classroom must be really damp and dirty to have 7 different kinds of moulds growing, ew! It wouldn't be healthy to stay in a classroom like that.

Does it get quite damp in the winter and humid in the summer where you live? It can get quite damp here in Auckland, especially in the winter months. It's really important that we stop mould from spreading in our homes as soon as possible because it can be unhealthy to breathe in.

    Keep up the hard work,
    Evelyn :)
