Week 4
Day 1
Activity 3: The Sky in Shanghai [10 points]

Today I have to make a poem to describe how I would feel going to Beijing China

The hair sticks up on my spine
My mind is thinking fine
It sounds divine but
I fear the smog is deadly there

“Pollution Blue” No More: Beijing Authorities Modify Smog Alert System

  1. Greetings Jess,

I love the rhyme and the rhythm that you have got going on in your poem, it flows nicely off the tongue! The picture (well done for attributing it) you have chosen really shows just how polluted the air in Beijing is. It's hard to believe that 21.7 MILLION people live in that city and breathe that air. We're very fortunate that we live in a country like New Zealand where the air is so fresh and clear. We must always remember to look after our country if we want to keep it that way!

Have you been to China before? I've been to another major city there called Shanghai. It's the largest city in China. I went there over ten years ago so I don't remember too much of the trip but I do remember that everything at a distance from me looked blurry due to the thick air pollution. Nonetheless, it's a great place to visit and there are lots of delicious food and historic sites to see! Are there any countries in Asia that you would like to visit? I really, really want to go to Japan and I hope I can do that within the next 3 years!

    Best,
    Evelyn :)

I like your blog post. I like how you described what you felt. I like how you said the hair on your neck stands up that cool.
    Keep up the good work,
