Activity 3: Weird and Wonderful [10 points]

Today I had to work out if a plant has 3 ml of water a day it how

much would it need in a year. The first thing I did was think that
there is 365 days in a year so then I worked out this by writing
on paper 365 times 3. First I did 300 times 3 which equalled
900. Then I did 60 times 3 which equalled 180 next I did 5 times
3 which equalled 15. Now I added them all together which was
900 plus 180 plus 15 it equalled 1095ml. At the start I figured
out the answer and I put it in the calculator to check if it was
right and I was.  I had a weird feeling that it was wrong though.
It took me a long time to realise that I put the same figures as I
had used on paper so I got the same answer, but they were
both wrong. It’s good to double check the answer on the
calculator, but only if you enter the right numbers!

Activity 2: Fabulous Ferns [4 points]

Today I was writing 3 New Zealand Nation sports that have the word fern in their name. My favourite
uniform is the Silver Ferns because I like the picture of the Fern at the bottom. I notice the spices logo
on their uniform and that they are all black and white because they are New Zealand's colours.
Sometimes there are number or letter to say there position or they might have there name on there
uniform.

Activity 1: Giants Among Us [4 points]

I would love to go and see the biggest tree in New Zealand
(Tane Mahuta) because I love to go on bush walks and I have
never gone to North-land before. It would be so cool to
compare my height and size to the height and size of the tree.

Activity 2: North and South [4 points]

My home town is taramakau settlement. It is about 30 minutes away from greymouth in the south island. There are 7 farmers including my one here.There are lots of amazing things to do here because its a dead end so not many cars come down here. You can go on bike rides on the road if you are careful and there are cool mountains all around us that you can walk up and look down at your house from it. One of my favourite things to do here is to go down to the river and go jump of the rocks in to the water it is so clear so you don’t have to worry about hitting anything. I love that you don’t have to worry about neighbours so you can blast music. I always go and walk down to the farm and play with the calves and pet lambs. I would never want to leave taramakau settlement.


As I was trying to find a photo for taramakau settlement I found lots of photos of my family when I searched it up. The photo were from a farming magazine that we were in. It was weird to see photos of myself when I googled it.

WEEK 1: A Place to Stand
DAY 1: In the Beginning...
Activity 1: The Legend of New Zealand [4 points]

1.New zealand has one of the highest populations of cars in its country. There are 4 million people in it and 2.5 million car ownership in it.

2.New Zealand is one of 3 countries that has 2 national anthems. One is God saved the queen and the other is god defend New Zealand.

3.Dairy Farmers make 100 kgs of butter and 65 kgs of cheese every year for a each person in New Zealand.

descriptive writing

We were learning to write a descriptive piece of writing in a moment in time.

‘Ding dong!’

‘That’s my call’ I whisper to myself as I step on the the dance floor in the theatre royal at the start of the holidays.

All I hear is the crowd screaming my name and cheering. I'm shaking I’m so nervous I just want to run away but In my body I am jumping up and down I’m that excited. I could hear my breath and my footsteps as run on stage. I can taste my salty sweet and see bright lights.The sound of my heart pounding take over the crowd like thunder in a storm I get ready for the first move and say to myself  have fun that it will be over soon.

‘Here I go,’ I think to myself excitedly.’
