Week 4
Day 5
Activity 2: En Pointe [4 points]
For this activity, please choose your favourite inspirational quote from this
website. Create a text graphic using this quote.
On your blog, share your text graphic and underneath it, explain what it
means to you.
I chose this quote because I believe  that you can do anything if you put
your mind to it and I think this quote represents that.

Week 4

DAY 5: DANCING QUEENS

Activity 1: The World of Hip Hop [4 points]
For this activity, watch this video of their award winning performance. What do
you like about the performance? What did the dance crew do well? What
could they work on?
On your blog, write a review of The Royal Family performance. Please talk
about the dance, dancers, costumes, and the music. What did you like? What
didn’t you like as much? What do you think could have been improved?
The video didn't work so I searched up royal family performance on my phone and I
think that I got the right video but this is what I thought.
I thought that it had been practised a lot and they were in sink very well but Hip Hop
is not my favourite music of dance. I think that they deserved to win. I didn't really
like the costumes but they were very bright. There moves were good but again it's
not my favourite type of dance.

Day 4
Activity 2: Try Your Own Tapa [4 points]
For this activity please create your own tapa cloth design. You can draw your
design on paper or using a drawing app such as Google Draw.
On your blog, post an image (photo or screenshot) or your tapa design and
describe what each part of your picture represents (means).
I am not sure if this is right. The hockey stick is because I play hockey. The cowboy
hat and I heart country music is because I love country music. The cow and farm is
because I live on a farm and a cow is my favourite animal. The tree is because I like
going of bush walks. The sister word because I have 2 sisters. The friendship
symbol because I have lots of great friends. The bird because I have birds. The
mountains because I live around mountains and the kiwi because I am from NZ.

Week 4

DAY 4: ARTY DESIGNERS

Activity 1: Fashion forward [4 points]

For this activity, please read this article about where some famous New
Zealand brands got their names from. Brand names are very important to
companies as this is how they are known.
On your blog, tell us how Twenty Seven Names got their name. Looking at
their clothing brand, tell us whether you think this is a good name for them, or
if they should change it to something else!
The Twenty Seven Names got their name because there were 27 people who helped
get the label off the ground. I think that Twenty Seven Names is a good name because
it represents all the people that helped. I think that this is the best name for it. When I
first saw the brand name I was wondering what it was so it could draw people to want to
know what the brand is. The only thing that would be a pain is that the name is quite
long.

Week 4
Day 3
Activity 3: Feast or Famine [6 points]

For this activity, we would like to know if you would consider doing a 20 or 40
Hour Famine to raise money for charity.
On your blog, tell us whether, or not, you would participate in 20 or 40 Hour
Famine. If you have already participated in a 20 or 40 Hour Famine, please
share your experience, including why you decided to participate and some
highlights and challenges of the experience. To get full points, please provide
at least six sentences.
I have done it before and I did the no eating. All I ate was one pack of the little lollies
that we use for it.  I wanted to do it because when we watched the video at school I
wanted to help. It was hard at dinner when everyone else was eating. I would
definitely do it again. The one that I wouldn't do is no talking because it is hard to not
talk and I would probably blurt out a word on accident. I think the 40 hour famine is a
great way to raise money for the refugees.

Week 4
Day 3
Activity 2: Plot Points [4 points]

For this activity, imagine that you had the chance to write your own movie.
What would it be about? Who would be your main characters? What are the
important events that would take place?
On your blog, provide a synopsis (overview) of your movie. In particular, tell
us the name of your movie, the main events that take place in your movie and
the names of the main characters. If you wish, you could do this as a
storyboard.

If I was to make a movie than it would be about New Zealand. It would be like a tour
of NZ or just have lots of sites in NZ. It would be like Hunt for the Wilder people by
being a funny movie. The main character would be a girl named Bella.Bella would
go around NZ in one year. She would meet all sorts of people in NZ. she would
make all sorts of suggestions and what she likes. It would be called Around My World
In One Year.

Week 4

DAY 3: SCREEN LEGENDS

Activity 1: Talk Show Host [4 points]
For this activity, we would love to know more about your interests (passions)
and your future plans. What do you think that you would like to do when you
are older? Do you have a specific job in mind?
On your blog, please tell us about your future plans (i.e. what you plan to do
when you finish high school or college). Would you prefer to start working
right away or to continue with your studies?

When I am older I am probably going to be a farmer or vet because I love spending
time with animals. I also like to play with babies so I might work at a preschool. I will
live on a farm or a place with a few paddocks but I don't want to live in a town or city.
I think that I will still live in the South Island and diffidently in New Zealand. I am not
sure if I will go to uni.

Week 4
Day 2
Activity 3: Girl Power [6 points]
For this activity, we would like to choose one role model and tell us about
them. What makes them a role model? They can be people you know
personally, people you have seen on television or the internet, people you
have heard on the radio or people you have heard about from a friend of
family member. You do not have to know them personally.
On your blog, tell us about your chosen role model. Please be sure to tell us
why you think they are a role model.
My role model is Kate Sheppard because she did the unknown by protesting for the
right for women to vote. She proves that people should stand up and fight for what
they believe.

Week 4
Day 2
Activity 2: K-pop heroes [4 points]
For this activity, please watch this CBS Sunday Morning Special about BTS.
On your blog, tell us your opinion on BTS. Please don’t just say whether or
not you like them, but tell us what it is that you like (or don’t like) about them.
The video didn't work because youtube doesn't go for our school so I searched up
bts and this is what I don't like about them.
I don't like the BTS band because it isn't my type of music I prefer country music.
I also don't like them because I like to sing along to the music that I listen to but
they sing in a different language most of the time.

You can tell us about an actual event or you can make one up. It’s totally up
to you! Please be as creative as you can.
On your blog, post a diary entry about your extraordinary day. Please start
your post with the words “Dear Diary”.
This isn't a true story
Dear diary
Today was the craziest day ever. So first my 2 sisters and I went down to the creek
and went for a swim. We were swimming for 1 hour when a huge eel the length of a
whale came and  bit my younger sisters leg and dragged her down under the water.
Luckily my older sister went under and grabbed her while I was calling mum. she
fought off the eel and brought Hayley to the top of the water and to land. She gave
Hayley CPR and brought her back to life. It was like a miracle that she survived.
Surprisingly she didn't even have a broken bone. We never swam there again!

Week 4
Day 1
Activity 2: Romeo and Juliet [4 points]

For this activity, we would like you to learn more about ‘Shakespearean
English’ - the version of English that Shakespeare used to write his plays. To
do this, please write a short recount about what you did this morning in regular
(2019) English, and then use this translating tool to turn it into Shakespearean
English.
On your blog, share both your English and Shakespearean translation of your
recount.

This morning I woke up at about 8:00 and went in the lounge. I watched an hour of a movie while have
cereal for breakfast. Then I got dressed and brushed my teeth and went for a bike ride down the farm.
When I got back I went in my aviary and checked on my birds and feed them. Next I played on the
trampoline for a bit.
